E.P. Boynton & T.R. Warriner establish a civil engineering firm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, designing water and sewer systems in Eastern Iowa.

Boynton leaves to pursue a managerial position for a manufacturing company in Denver, Colorado. For the next 55 years, Warriner has sole ownership of the engineering company.
