Through private consulting work and civic service, T.R. Warriner shapes the growth of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as it grows from a frontier town into one of Iowa´s largest cities. He designed over 100 subdivisions in the area and provided valuable guidance for the design and construction of the first river wall system in Cedar Rapids.

Philip Shive purchases Warriner´s business and renames the company Shive Engineering. Philip´s son, Jim, joins the company the next year beginning a new era of growth.
