North Liberty Streets and Maintenance Facilty
The city streets department had long outgrown its small, deteriorating office and equipment storage facility.
Shive-Hattery was hired by the City of North Liberty to provide design, bidding and construction phasing services for the new North Liberty Streets and Maintenance Facility project. The project consisted of sitework, a new emergency power source, a vehicle wash building of approximately 2,300 square feet and a new mixed-use building comprised of vehicle storage for 18 vehicles, a vehicle maintenance area, and a Streets Department office area.
The new facility provides office space, heated vehicle storage and maintenance bays, a vehicle wash building and an additional storage room. Geothermal heating and cooling was included as well as site improvements. A stormwater runoff infiltration trench provides water quality to the receiving creek.
