Jones County Central Park
As part of the larger Central Park Lake restoration project, the Jones County Conservation Board completed a study of its facilities. The study indicated that nutrients were entering the lake, which was causing an environmental threat
Improvements included construction of four septic systems for wastewater treatment and abandonment of the existing lagoon. One system serves the residential house, a second system serves the shower house, a third system serves the sewered camp sites and the fourth system serves the RV dump station. The lagoon was converted into wetlands. Services included survey, design, preparation of construction documents, permitting, bidding and limited construction observation.
The county now has a well-functioning wastewater system for Central Park Lake and has converted the existing lagoon into wetlands.
