INSURANCE BENEFITS

As a full-time member of Shive-Hattery´s staff employees are eligible to participate in the company´s insurance benefits programs. All of these benefits begin the first of the month following hire date.

Health and Dental Coverage

Comprehensive major medical health and dental insurance programs are currently provided on a minimal cost share basis through Principal Financial Group and Delta Dental respectively.

Vision Discounts

A discount vision plan is offered as a part of our overall health insurance plan provided by Principal Financial Group. It is a discount on the cost of an eye exam and materials. Vision services provided for required medical purposes are covered under the medical insurance portion of our plan as well.

Shive-Hattery also offers an additional voluntary vision discount plan available for purchase by employees through Coast-to-Coast Vision. This plan is a discount on hardware only. Coast-to-Coast Vision contracts with over 10,000 retail optical outlets nationwide to provide 10% to 60% discounts on a complete pair of eyeglasses, contact lenses (excluding disposables), non-prescription sunglasses and other items offered at retail. Discounts on disposable contact lenses are available through mail order.

FSA (Flexible Savings Accounts)

Our Flexible Benefit Plan (a cafeteria plan as defined by tax rules) currently contains an opportunity for medical care reimbursement and childcare reimbursement. The plan also has a provision for tax savings on the employee´s portion of premiums paid for health and dental insurance plans. Voluntary participation in this plan begins the first of the month following your date of employment.

Short-term disability, long-term disability and life insurance Shive-Hattery provides, at no cost to the employee, short-term disability, long-term disability and life insurance. Our short-term disability program is self-funded and the long-term disability and life insurance are administered through insurance policies held by Principal Financial Group. These benefits are effective the first of the month following your start date.

AFLAC Insurance

The company also provides voluntary insurance plans through AFLAC. Those include Accident, Cancer, Long-term Care, Recovery Plus, and Sickness Indemnity.

Employee Assistance Program

This program is available to employees and their immediate family members at no charge for use as a confidential method of assisting with problems that may affect their job performance or their personal lives.
