As a Civil Engineer in our Cedar Rapids location you will design a variety of transportation and site related projects from roadway, trails, and traffic signals to grading, utilities, subdivisions. You will be part of a team of experienced and motivated engineers. You have the opportunity to be a key member of our growing team while we serve our clients and grow your career. We are seeking a candidate who has a passion to help make our clients successful, to design smart public and private improvements and to deliver quality work on schedule.
Responsibilities will include leading the design effort on transportation and site projects, being responsible for technical design decisions and producing high quality design plans. Project types may include urban and rural roadway, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, storm sewer design, drainage studies, traffic studies, other municipal projects, large-scale commercial and industrial developments, educational and even healthcare projects. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to design multi-faceted projects in a full-service Architecture & Engineering firm environment.
- Working as a design leader in collaborative design teams
- 4+ years of civil engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional engineer license in Iowa or the ability to obtain with one within twelve months
Experience with the following is a plus:
- Iowa DOT standards and procedures
- SUDAS Design and Standards procedures
- Transportation related design
- Site design and land development
- Municipal design and collaboration with cities or counties
- Experienced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Interest or experience in 3D visualization
- Use of specialized software for transportation, traffic, utility, and stormwater management design
