Shive-Hattery is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our Corporate Design and Technology Innovation (DaTI) team as an entry-level Research and Development Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a passion for exploring new technologies and design techniques, and a desire to help advance the state of the art in the AEC industry.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on new and emerging technologies and design techniques in the AEC industry
- Collaborate with other members of the DaTI team, as well as with architects, engineers, and other technical experts, to develop and implement innovative solutions
- Conduct tests to validate the performance of new technologies and design techniques
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other communications materials to share the results of research and development activities with stakeholders
- Keep up to date with industry developments and emerging trends to inform and enhance the direction of R&D initiatives
Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong interest in and knowledge of emerging technologies, materials, and design techniques
- Familiarity with various design and analysis software packages (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, etc.) is not required, but is desirable
