Senior Level Landscape Architect

Overview

The Senior Level Landscape Architect has full responsibility for leading and preparing accurate, highly creative landscape design solutions to meet client goals and budgets of various sizes and project types. Typical duties and responsibilities may include project management, planning, organizing, and supervising work assignments of junior level staff while providing coaching and mentoring through design and construction document knowledge. 

Obtain new business in the Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska marketplaces while working with various sectors within the company. Provide outstanding service to clients through thought leadership, leading the delivery of design projects and contributing to a great team environment.  

• Registration as a Licensed Landscape Architect is a requirement
• Must be computer literate in AutoCAD/LandFX, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. 3D rendering programs are recommended
• Lead projects from schematic design to documentation and construction observation
• Must be willing to market as a leader and focus on retaining and growing existing clients within the process of project performance
• Candidate will work with a landscape architecture team and report to the head of the team who sits in Des Moines
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Assist senior staff and project managers in the development of project deliverables, work scope and budgets
• A general understanding of the field of landscape architecture and the ability to collaborate across discipline boundaries to support the delivery of solutions which meet client expectations is essential in order to successfully meet the requirements of this position
• The role will require occasional travel

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture preferred
• Background in a consulting environment working alongside multiple disciplines to accomplish building and site projects

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Landscape Architecture
• Licensed landscape architect within United States of America
