Shive-Hattery partnered with ZGF Architects for the design of a new Outpatient Surgery Center and Specialty Clinic (six story plus MEP penthouse) for UI Health at the University of Illinois, Chicago. The near 200,000 sf building includes a basement area of 12,690 GSF; 1st floor through 6th floor of 30,600 GSF and a penthouse of approx. 9,000 sf. The design includes 8 operating rooms and 8 GI procedure rooms with 48 perioperative and recovery beds, full function onsite SPD, retail pharmacy, imaging suite, 122 exam rooms, and a two story connecting bridge between the new entrance lobby of the hospital and the second level and critical connection to the 3rd floor Inpatient Perioperative services.
