University of Illinois Health Outpatient Surgery Center and Specialty Clinics

Shive-Hattery partnered with ZGF Architects for the design of a new six story, approximately 200,000 GSF Outpatient Surgery Center and Specialty Clinics for the University of Illinois at Chicago. The initial studies also included master planning for a future inpatient facility. 

The OSCSC will be connected to the existing hospital with a two story pedestrian bridge and located on a vacant lot south. The new facility will replace the Eye and Ear Infirmary but also combine departments from across the campus, increase convenience for patients, and internal operational efficiency. 

The project will be a Public Private Partnership Delivery Model. 

Drake University and Broadlawns Medical Center New Community Clinic

Drake University and Broadlawns Medical Center announced plans to build a new medical clinic on University Avenue near 29th Street.

The Broadlawns Medical Clinic will begin construction in May 2022 with a scheduled completion date of August 2023. Services available at the clinic will be open to the general public and accessible to Drake University students and employees.

The project is intended to help solve two issues: fill a gap in primary care providers in the community and expand Drake University’s student health services.
