Shive-Hattery’s Valparaiso Studio Has a Feeling All Its Own.

Our location makes for an easy commute, we’re within walking distance of good shopping and restaurants, there’s a park nearby (one we designed!), and we’re minutes from the Lake Michigan shoreline.

We like to say that our Valparaiso studio is just the right size — not too big, and not too small. With a team of about 25 people, we all get to know each other well. We even bring our families together throughout the year, too.

Top 5 Reasons We Love Our Valparaiso Studio

  • Everybody here rallies around fun! From building gingerbread houses and playing laser tag to attending murder mystery dinners and walking downtown for ice cream when the weather’s nice, we know how to have fun together.
  • If you have an idea, we want to hear it. We have an open environment and encourage everyone to speak their minds, whether you’re a summer intern or long-time employee.
  • We give back to our community. Just one example: Every year, we lend our time to United Way’s Day of Caring.
  • Stifling isn’t our style. We don’t believe in micromanaging or heavy-handed leadership, either.
  • We have a sketch club! You don’t have to be an architect or interior designer to join in on the relaxation and opportunity for artistic expression.

A Space for All Generations

Dubbed one of five Great Public Spaces in the United States by the American Planning Association, Shive-Hattery helped transform half a city block into Central Park Plaza: the home to year-round outdoor fun in the center of downtown Valparaiso. Community members can enjoy farmers’ markets, concerts, a splash pad, live theater, and ice skating and hockey here.
