Embrace Growth and Balance in Iowa’s Thriving Capital City! Explore our Des Moines studio.

Our Des Moines architecture and engineering firm is experiencing extraordinary growth, and we’re loving every minute of it! We’re currently a team of more than 100 — and we’re on track to double that number. To make space for this progress, we’re continuing to expand within our building and designing new workspaces.

As one of Shive-Hattery’s largest offices, our team brings many different skillsets to the table. This means we get to work together to solve problems. If you don’t have the answer, we can find someone who does!

Work-life balance matters to the Des Moines studio. We’re rewarded for our hard work, but we value our time away from the office just as much.

Top 5 Reasons we love our des moines studio

  • We get to park where we work! No public transportation, no ramps, no paying to park. Your car sits right outside the office, which makes commuting much better.
  • Our location makes errand-running so easy! If you want to do some shopping or grab a bite to eat, we’re close to a mall, big-box retail, grocery stores, and restaurants.
  • We get to work in the old Wall Street Journal printing press. Our design team kept some of the existing historical elements while bringing a modern vibe to the space—including a cool mezzanine.
  • Our social committee helps us build community with fun events every month, from Pac-Man parties and happy hours to trivia (and it can get pretty competitive)!
  • We love being involved in community events and working with other businesses. We’re active in local Chambers of Commerce, too.
