Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana Grand Opening

On February 13th, The Cordish Companies hosted a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony for Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana, Shreveport-Bossier’s first land-based casino.

The facility underwent an extensive rebranding and reconstruction to emerge as Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, featuring a bold new exterior design and an expanded gaming floor showcasing over 1,000 positions of cutting-edge gaming technology. It also features an upscale 550-room hotel, a 25,000-square-foot multi-purpose Event Center, and ample dining and entertainment venues.

Capturing the spirit of Louisiana’s beloved carnival season, the Grand Opening celebration embraced a vibrant Mardi Gras theme —“Geaux Live! 2025.” Colorful decor, lively music and fireworks welcomed guests to the $270+ million premier destination for gaming, dining and entertainment.

Casino & Hotel will be a transformative development that will bring a first-class gaming and entertainment experience to millions of visitors, create significant new jobs, and generate millions of dollars in economic benefits for the community for generations to come,” said Rob Norton, President of Cordish Gaming Group, the gaming division of The Cordish Companies.

The project is expected to generate over $35 million in local gaming tax revenue and $168 million for the State of Louisiana within its first five years while bringing approximately 1,500 new jobs to the region, including 750 permanent positions.
