Shive-Hattery recognized for Reduced Energy Use

Shive-Hattery projects recognized are Oaknoll Spring Street Expansion, Mid-Prairie Community School District Middle School Addition and Renovation, and Cedar Rapids Community School District Washington HVAC Renovation.

The Excellence in Energy Efficient Design Award program recognized Shive-Hattery for its outstanding efforts in reducing energy use. The Commercial New Construction program provides energy design assistance and energy-efficiency incentives to commercial customers for new construction, additions and renovation projects located in areas served by the three utilities. 

The Commercial New Construction program recognized the following Shive-Hattery projects:
 

  • Oaknoll Spring Street Expansion, achieving a 62 percent annual kBTU savings.
  • Mid-Prairie Community School District Middle School Addition and Renovation, achieving a 46 percent annual kBTU savings.
  • Cedar Rapids Community School District Washington HVAC Renovation, achieving a 46 percent annual kBTU savings.

The Commercial New Construction program is offered by Alliant Energy, Black Hills Energy and MidAmerican Energy Company.
