Luke Air Force Base Training Facility Building #936

Located in Glendale, AZ

Back to projects

This complex project provided space for classrooms and critical space for the various maintenance training functions required to support the JSF F-35 field training detachment at Luke Air Force Base. AT/FP criteria was included in the design as well as LEED-NC criteria.

Extensive HVAC coordination was required, as not only was LEED criteria followed, but LAFB also wanted to re-use existing equipment from this and other facilities. Complicating matters was the strict humidity requirement for the high bay Training Room. All aspects of the project were successfully completed, and the users were satisfied with their new facilities.

Roofing repairs were undertaken to carefully preserve the existing substrate wherever possible. When holes, cracking or other damage was discovered, the areas were infilled with compatible materials so to avoid adding weight or otherwise jeopardizing the existing structure.
