Ostergard Lake House

Amanda and Winston Ostergard desired a new lake house in Lincoln, Nebraska, that would make the most of its waterfront setting while meeting the needs of everyday life. The home needed to balance private spaces with areas for gathering and entertaining. Creating meaningful connections between the interior, outdoor spaces, and surrounding landscape was an important consideration. The challenge was bringing these priorities together in a cohesive residential design tailored to the owners.

Shive-Hattery provided architectural services and collaborated with the owners and project partners to bring their vision to life. The home was planned around how the owners would live in and experience the space throughout the day. Indoor and outdoor areas were considered together to strengthen the home’s relationship with the lake and surrounding landscape. The resulting design combines functionality, comfort, and a strong connection to its setting.
