Broadlawns Community Clinic at Drake Wins Multiple Awards

Broadlawns Community Clinic at Drake has received the 2026 MII Appreciation Award and the 2024 Presidents' Community Partner Award

The Broadlawns Community Clinic at Drake continues to gain well-deserved recognition as a thoughtfully designed healthcare space, and as a project that meaningfully connects architecture, education, and community impact.

Shive-Hattery is proud to share that the clinic has been selected for a 2026 Masonry Institute of Iowa (MII) Appreciation Award, celebrating outstanding use of masonry across the state. The material palette was carefully considered to create a welcoming, durable, and contextually appropriate facility, one that serves patients while complementing the character of the Drake University campus.

This recognition builds on earlier honors, including the 2024 Presidents’ Community Partner Award from the Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. This award recognizes organizations that enhance quality of life through meaningful, measurable impact and sustained partnerships with higher education institutions. The collaboration between Broadlawns and Drake University exemplifies this approach, expanding access to care while enriching student learning and community outcomes.

Together, these accolades reflect what’s possible when thoughtful design and strong partnerships align. At Shive-Hattery, we’re proud to have played a role in bringing this impactful project to life.
