The Village of Andalusia, Illinois recognized the need for a new fire station to better serve its growing community and support modern emergency response needs. The existing facilities no longer provided adequate space for vehicles, equipment, or training, limiting the department’s ability to operate efficiently. To move the project forward, the community also needed to secure public support and funding through a successful bond referendum.

Following voter approval in spring 2024, the team partnered with the Village and fire protection district to design a new 13,000-square-foot, single-story fire station tailored to current and future needs. The design focuses on functionality and durability, providing expanded apparatus bays, dedicated training areas, and improved circulation for emergency response. Through a design-bid-build process, the project team worked closely with stakeholders to ensure the facility aligns with operational goals while reflecting the community’s investment and vision.

Once complete, the new fire station will strengthen emergency services for Andalusia by improving response times, enhancing firefighter training, and supporting long-term growth. The upgraded facility provides a safer, more efficient environment for first responders while reinforcing the community’s commitment to public safety and preparedness.
