Century Casinos has transformed gaming and hospitality in Caruthersville with a bold new land-based casino and hotel that celebrates the Mississippi River’s heritage while delivering a contemporary destination for entertainment. This 94,000-square-foot property replaces the aging riverboat casino with a vibrant, modern facility designed to elevate the guest experience and strengthen the brand’s regional presence.

The design challenge was twofold: honor the site’s history and character while introducing a fresh, forward-looking aesthetic. Shive-Hattery partnered with Century Casinos to achieve this vision through a collaborative approach that balanced operational needs with architectural impact.

The heart of the property is a 54,000-square-foot gaming floor featuring state-of-the-art slots and table games, designed for comfort and flow. Above the casino, three levels of hotel guestrooms offer a retreat for extended stays, with spacious rooms and suites that include oversized bathrooms, wet bars, and private balconies framing dramatic views of the Mississippi River. Architectural elements throughout the property draw inspiration from water, with ribbon-like concrete textures and interior finishes that echo the rippling river. This thematic approach creates a sense of continuity between the natural environment and the built space, reinforcing the romance of the river while delivering a modern hospitality experience.
