The newly constructed Harrah’s Columbus Racing & Casino in Columbus, Nebraska brings together gaming, dining, and live racing into one cohesive destination. As Caesars Entertainment’s first casino in the area, the design balances energy and functionality across the property, with an 18,000-square-foot gaming floor featuring table games and slots, along with on-site dining options including Brew Brothers and the Wishbone sports bar. The overall layout was designed to feel active and connected, while still allowing each space to have its own identity.

A key focus of the project is the racing component, which was thoughtfully integrated to create a strong sense of place and experience. The one-mile dirt track, the longest of its kind in the state, anchors the design and sets the tone for the entire facility. The grandstand and viewing areas were designed to maximize sightlines and engagement, with a mix of open-air seating for 300 guests, enclosed VIP seating for a more premium experience, and a large apron that can accommodate up to 2,000 spectators during events.

Supporting the track is a full equine facility designed to meet the needs of modern racing operations, while still connecting back to the overall guest experience. The combination of the track, grandstand, and integrated viewing areas creates a dynamic environment that brings guests closer to the action. Together, the racing and casino components work as one, creating a destination that feels both high-energy and rooted in the tradition of the sport.
