Back to projects

Helix Design Group and Burns & McDonnell worked together with a team of local sub-consultants to provide programming, planning, and full design services for the Information Operations Readiness Center for the Washington Army National Guard at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The project was managed by the Seattle District, Army Corps of Engineers. The facility provides over 127,100 SF of administrative, operations, and specialized space to accommodate four units and over 450 people on drill weekends and a full-time staff of approximately 30. Site improvements include parking for 400 vehicles. Our experience with Washington Military Department standards and preferences, National Guard criteria, USACE Seattle and JBLM standards, sustainable design, and local conditions enabled our team to deliver a high-quality product to the full satisfaction of all agencies involved.

Awards: Silver Award for Design Excellence, Society of American Military Engineers, Seattle & Mt. Tacoma Posts, 2016; Excellence in Masonry Award, 2016.
