The Preserve Signage

Knapp Properties was creating a new higher-end residential development in an area with little infrastructure. With the knowledge that the City would be building infrastructure that extended to the development, they needed distinct branding and signage. The common name of “The Preserve” would require a strong identity that emphasized the area’s unique tie to nature and differentiated the neighborhoods.

Shive-Hattery developed a look and feel around The Preserve and tied it specifically to the logo to ensure it is always associated with the correct development. Taking advantage of the natural rustic setting, the team designed the signage for the prairie grass to grow around and incorporated limestone reminiscent of the bluffs in the area. The topographic changes between the banks of the Raccoon River and the wooded forest provided many opportunities. Illuminated artistic elements rise out of the prairie along the main road, and residents are greeted with unique entrance signage for their areas. The development entrance is currently two lanes wide, but the signage design leaves room to expand to four if Knapp Properties desires.

The Preserve has a developed identity, logo and signage that communicates a seamless blend between beautiful upscale homes and the natural environment.
