TSSC A-10 Facility
Located in Tucson, AZ
The United States Air Force needed a specialized facility to support the development and fabrication of A-10 flight simulators. The project required space for both full-surround and forward vision cockpit simulators, along with secure areas for software development, fabrication, and equipment loading.
Shive-Hattery and Candelaria Corporation partnered on this design-build project to deliver an 11,150-square-foot facility tailored to the Air Force’s training mission. The northern portion of the building—constructed with a pre-engineered metal frame and finished with masonry and stucco—houses offices and training/development areas. The southern portion includes a 3,600-square-foot warehouse with controlled access to a new loading area on the east side, supporting secure equipment handling and logistics.
This purpose-built facility enhances the Air Force’s ability to develop and deploy advanced flight simulation technology. By combining secure fabrication space with dedicated development areas, the project supports mission readiness and innovation in pilot training.
