Data Center
As part of the hospital’s expansive 2011 addition and renovation, a new 2000-square-foot data center was designed for relocation of the hospital’s existing data center. The project included redundant 225 kVA UPS systems, transfer switches, distribution panels, A/B busway systems for distribution to server racks, cable tray systems and campus wide backbone copper and fiber cable distribution to support 29 IDF closets. The new data center is being relocated into the repurposed existing Central Energy Plant following completion of a new plant and decommissioning of the original equipment. The project design includes hot aisle containment of the server rows to collect hot exhaust air from the IT equipment. This air is then cooled by row based cooling equipment to be available for IT equipment intakes. Also included in the design is a backup chiller system to serve the data center in case the existing main chillers fail as well as a clean agent fire protection system.
