CGH Medical Center sought to renovate its lobby and cafeteria to create more welcoming and functional spaces for patients, visitors, and staff. As highly used areas within the medical center, the spaces needed to support a range of daily activities while maintaining the needs of an active healthcare environment. The renovation required thoughtful planning to improve the overall experience without compromising functionality. The design also needed to create a cohesive environment that reflected the quality of care provided throughout CGH Medical Center.

Shive-Hattery provided architectural design services for the lobby and cafeteria renovation. The team reimagined the spaces with a focus on functionality, comfort, and the experience of patients, visitors, and staff. Careful planning helped organize circulation and everyday activities while integrating the improvements within the existing medical center. The design created refreshed spaces that support the different ways people use the lobby and cafeteria throughout the day.
