Gentle Dental

Located in Lincoln, NE

Back to projects

The owner of Gentle Dental wanted to build a new stand-alone office that reflected her identity as a compassionate dentist, provided a better experience for her patients, and was located in a prominent area to draw in more clients. A new medical development in the southern area of Lincoln, with a spot highly visible from two major adjacent streets, provided the opportunity to accomplish this.
The exterior of the office was modeled after the development’s anchor building (a pediatric clinic), with a flat roofline except for some key slopes, such as over the entrance, and a mix of stone and stucco materials. It was made unique by adding floor-to-ceiling windows in the waiting area and extensive use of the dentist’s logo – a single molar surrounded by a circle of molars that from a distance looks like a flower. Bright, shiny white metal panels surrounding the entrance are reminiscent of pearly white teeth. This distinctive entrance faces the street, giving the building the curb appeal the owner was looking for.
The building is rectangular except for the waiting room, which has a curved wall of glass. The 10 exam rooms each have large windows to let in natural light. Three offices and a break room are also part of this exterior corridor and ring around an X-Ray and tool cleaning area.
