Shive-Hattery partnered with MercyOne Genesis Health System to expand and enhance the Genesis Eldridge Clinic in Eldridge, Iowa. What began as a straightforward addition has grown into a thoughtful renovation and expansion strategy that better supports the access to family practice and convenient care. A design that respects the existing clinic while creating room for new services and improved patient flow was requested. Our team worked closely to understand priorities, evaluate options, and shape a plan that strengthens care delivery for the community.

The current design introduces a mix of renovation and new construction that improves how patients and staff move through the clinic each day. The project includes a 7,669‑square‑foot addition with 13 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, expanded lab capabilities, and a larger convenient care area. Early planning explored multiple alternates, including future physical therapy space, to ensure the building remains adaptable over time. These decisions help one serve more patients, improve clinical efficiency, and provide a better experience for families relying on care.

Located at the existing Eldridge Clinic site, the expanded facility remains well connected to the neighborhoods and communities. The combined improvements gives a larger, more flexible environment that responds to increased demand and supports long‑term growth. Its modernized layout and updated systems create a more welcoming, comfortable, and efficient setting for both patients and providers.
