Johnny Boyd, AIA // Architect
Director of Sports + Recreation

Architecture is exciting and the design of Sports Architecture takes that excitement to the next level. Johnny is captivated by the roar of the crowd, the rush of the game and the spectacle of the stadium and arena. As a Sports Architect and Consultant, he is thrilled to help clients create the total sports experience from the practice facilities, training rooms, team areas and concessions to the competition fields, tracks, stadiums, seating, branding and technology.
Designing a great sports facility and business begins with a strong game plan and is driven by attention to detail. Drawing from his experience in sports, branding and technology, Johnny has developed a Sports Design Playbook that focuses on: client/owner goals, technical expertise, athletic performance, fan experience and revenue profitability. Through the Sports Design Playbook process, we help clients explore and develop business goals, current/ future operation analysis, space/ function/ facility needs, equipment/product options, marketing strategies, technology integration plans, competition analysis and opportunities for innovation.
You have goals; Shive-Hattery has the team to help. Together, we’ll fuel your team’s athletic performance, fan base engagement and increase return on investment.
