Healthcare Foundation of LaPorte New Office

Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) came to Shive-Hattery for assistance to design a facility that would be their new headquarters as well as a staple for the community of La Porte. HFL saw a need in the community for conferencing and education space that businesses could use free of charge.

With goals identified and a site allocated, the team worked together to capture the essence of what the facility wanted to represent for the community. The site is an open space located next to the La Porte walking trail. While working through initial programming, the decision was made to locate the building on the northeast side of the site. The advantages are approaching from the West on Eastlake the main entrance fireplace and atrium are the visual focus. This also allowed for great view of Fishtrap Lake. HFL wanted to be thoughtful to the walking trail. The project will add a water/rest stop for trail participants to use.

The project consists of administrative area for the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte. The project will include conference rooms available to local businesses. The project also consists of an incubator space for startup businesses.

The project will be a great addition to the community and assist La Porte to thrive in the future.
