JTED Innovation Learning Center at the Bridges

Located in Tucson, AZ

Back to projects

The Pima JTED (Joint Technical Education District) facility is the first project built in the B-IV area of the Bridges in Tucson, AZ. The project was Design/Build in conjunction with Bourn Properties and BFL Construction.

The building is designed to implement the approved aesthetic strategies of the Bridges Master Plan, while adapting to the needs of an educational facility. Its location along the western edge of the B-IV parcel creates a situation transition between the future commercial development and the existing railroad.

JTED works with 14 member public school districts to provide premier career and technical education programs to sophomore, junior, and senior level high school students. Research shows that students who complete a Career and Technical Education program have far greater success than their peers.

This 50,000 sf facility provides classrooms for programs such as Culinary Arts, Mechatronics, Robotics, Aviation, Health Care, and 3-D Animation. In addition, the facility provides traditional classroom environments to enable partnering with local school districts for providing STEM classes at the same facility. This project is a recipient of a 2019 Metropolitan Pima Alliance Common Ground Award.
